We always start off with THIS IS THE BIG ONE But as the day draws closer, it seems a more and more credible boast. So for those of you for whom this is the first newsletter, International No Shop Day is on Saturday 29th November.

This year we've got at least double the number of groups staging NSD events than in 96. Friends of the Earth (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) estimate at least 30 of their local groups will take part- which they'll back up with national press work.
So... if you're thinking of joining in... THIS IS THE YEAR TO DO IT. Here's the list of people (to date) who've volunteered to be local contacts.
Some already have plans, but others, however, are acting as a point of contact only: willing to set up an initial meeting. Please don't assume everyone on this list is going to run the group!

If there isn't an Enough contact, there might be a Friends of the Earth local group you could link up with. Again, ring us and we'll try and sort something out.

IF YOU'RE STAGING AN ACTION...
It's crucial that you ring us and let us know asap what you're planning..
The press always ask us what's going on up and down the country, plus we can then see if there's a FoE group doing something near you, and put you in touch with them to co-ordinate / co-operate / chat.

Finally... after the day, can you send us photos, press cuttings, flyers so they can go in the 'what happened' newsletter? Oh, and Undercurrents want videos of the more visual actions... any chance of filming what you get up to?
