In The Netherlands Niet-Winkeldag will be celebrated for the sixth time. Last year there were activities in more then 20 cities.

In many cities there will be stalls, where people can exchange their ever-received-but-never-used Saint-Nicolaas-presents. ('You don't have to buy anything new. You can use the same presents again and again...')

Again Omslag has published the Consuminderkrant (Consume Less Newspaper). The circulation is 20.000 copies. The Consuminderkrant is now for free in public libraries.

We are looking for a table and an urn presently so we can set up in Dublin towncentre maty be gatting sponsorship from interested magazine "node".
Have made cardboard a6 flyers which we have been handing out round the town and continue to do so.
Local TV station TG4 wish to film us.
Laminated a3 flyers and will wear these.

Carin Leffler on Mon, 6 Nov 2000: "It's the fourth time we celebrate the "Kjøpefri dag", and like last year "Kjøpefri dag" will be celebrated in 5-6 cities in Norway. The activities are not set yet but there will (surely!) be "Buy Nothing Zones", street theatre, free "Fair trade coffee" and ginger cakes for bypassers, information about the day (leaflets) and a few surprises.
There has also been produced a "Gift card" (75 000 copies) that are distributed in cafees, restaurants and shopping centers in Oslo. It is designed as a post card with the text "Gift card" at the front. Turn it around and you'll find the message: "The reciever of this card will be invited to dinner in my house on the 25th of November". (There are also cards with other messages - the same type of "do-something-uncommercial-today")."
